At a recent academic lecture by former iPhone product marketing engineer Bob Borchers, the Cupertino colleague of Steve Jobs fondly reflected on how the late Apple CEO “motivated” the first team that designed and created the revolutionary first generation iPhone.

According to Borchers, Jobs wasn’t principally concerned with creating a high-end snazzy mobile device for powering diverse apps. Rather, Jobs wanted to his team to bring to life a device that owners would simply never want to be without.

Steve Jobs Bumps Justin Bieber for Super Bowl Inspiration at Best Buy

Consumer electronics retail giant Best Buy is paying a subtle tribute to Steve Jobs this Super Bowl weekend by changing up its ad strategy to reflect the genius of the late Apple chief.

According to a report Wednesday from Bloomberg, Best Buy’s Super Bowl commercial won’t feature the traditional parade of celebrities. Instead, the passing of Steve Jobs has prompted the retail giant to re-evaluate who today’s biggest “stars” truly are.

Steve Jobs Previously Asked Google to Stop Poaching Apple Employees

A court filing was unveiled recently including an email which late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs personally sent to former Google chief Eric Schmidt requesting an end to worker poaching. The email from March of 2007 specifically asked Google to put a stop to its active recruitment of an unnamed Apple engineer and alluded to stop worker poaching in general according to a report from Reuters.

Apple has officially assassinated Steve Jobs’…action figure.

The figurine in question is a frighteningly realistic replica of Steve Jobs i produced by In Icon. The company behind the doll, planned to include a laundry list of Jobs accessories including mini-iPads, glasses, shoes, an Apple II, and a bevy of other Jobs’ attire. Sadly the company issued a statement today informing the creepy collectible public that they officially killed off the Jobs figurine.

It’s Official: Apple Warns of Legal Action Over Jobs Action Figure

As MMi’s Phillip Swanson reported Monday, a 12” Steve Jobs action figure from toy company “In Icons” is set to be released in February for $99.

Unfortunately, there’s now a chance that we’ll never know if the action figure had the potential of becoming the next G.I. Joe. Because if “In Icons” proceeds to sell the toy next month, they may need G.I. Joe to rescue them from the legal war Apple is reportedly threatening.

Steve Jobs Wins a Grammy, Record Execs Turn Over in Their Graves (or Beds)

The Recording Academy announced the winners of its annual Special Merit Grammy awards today and Steve Jobs is a recipient of the Trustees Award for 2012. The Trustees Award category honors those who have made significant contributions to music in areas outside of performance.

Steve Jobs won a Grammy. Let that sink in for a minute. The man who bent record executives backwards over a lead-spiked barrel and branded them with an Apple logo was honored with one of the most prestigious awards handed out by the Recording Academy.
